Driving to Biloxi

We were crossing the I-10 bridge in Mobile Alabama, when Dylan took this picture. It's hard to find the words to describe the beauty of the Gulf of Mexico at twilight with the blue-grey fog rolling in. It was sprinkling rain. The clouds hung so low in the sky that the tops of the tall buildings were shrouded in mist. The water on both sides of the bridge was navy blue and made the fog look blue. It felt like we were wrapped in a big blanket. I told Dylan to roll his window down and get a picture. He said, "But Gram, I'm too scared." I told Cody to and he said the same thing. Savannah didn't want to either. So Dylan took this picture with the window rolled up. All the way across the bridge, the kids didn't say a word. I like to think they were caught up in a rare, ethereal moment, caught in the wonderment of God's creativity.
